    THE FEDERAL HEMP BAN

Your full-spectrum CBD is worth fighting for. Your voice can help.

A new federal rule is set to redraw what counts as legal hemp — and it could affect full-spectrum CBD, as well as low-dose THC. The people who rely on it should be part of the conversation.

    Equilibria is advocating for you.

For seven years, we've helped 500,000 women build routines they trust for sleep and everyday stress. This moment is about them. Our role as advocates is simple: make sure the women who rely on full-spectrum CBD are heard.

    Hemp Ban FAQs

What's happening with the federal hemp ban?

Congress passed a new federal definition of hemp that lowers how much THC a hemp product can contain. As written, the limit is low enough that it reaches many everyday full-spectrum CBD products — not just the intoxicating products you've seen in headlines. It isn't fully in effect yet, and the timeline is still moving.

What is full-spectrum CBD, and what makes it "full spectrum"?

Full-spectrum means the whole hemp plant, kept together: CBD alongside the plant's other natural compounds and the small, legally-defined trace of THC (up to 0.3%) that occurs naturally. Many people feel that whole-plant combination — often called the "entourage effect," an idea researchers are still studying — simply suits them better than isolated CBD. It's not about getting high; it's about the plant as a whole.

What's the difference between hemp and marijuana?

They're the same plant — cannabis. The law simply splits them by THC contents: "hemp" contains only a small, defined trace, while "marijuana" contains more. Here's what surprises people: at the very moment this new rule is tightening the hemp side, while recognizing medical marijuana into a more recognized, regulated category. So the same plant is being pulled in two directions at once.

Our concern is simple: the many women — moms, grandmothers, caregivers — who found a gentle, accessible option in hemp-derived full-spectrum CBD and low-dose THC could lose safe, tested access, even as other forms of cannabis gain it.

Would this affect the products I use?

It could. The new limit is measured differently and set low enough that a lot of full-spectrum products on the market today wouldn't meet it as written. That's exactly why we want the people who use these products to be part of the conversation now.

Is my CBD still available right now?

Yes. Nothing about your routine changes today. We'll keep this page updated plainly as things develop, so you always know where things actually stand.

When could the Federal Hemp Ban take effect?

The biggest changes were originally set for late 2026. Since then, lawmakers have voted to push most of them back, and several longer-term proposals are still in play — so there's no single deadline to point to yet. We'll update this the moment it becomes clearer.

What is Equilibria doing about it, and how can I help?

We're listening — and giving you a place to be heard. We're helping members share their stories, pointing anyone who wants to do more toward a trusted coalition (the U.S. Hemp Roundtable), and keeping a close eye on every moving piece so we can keep supporting our members proactively. Two easy ways to add your voice: take a minute with the Hemp Roundtable, or share your own story with us.
